Fox Valley Tough Kid Challenge (TKC) is an obstacle course event and fundraiser for physical education departments in the Appleton School District that features child-friendly but challenging obstacles. Last year the course was 1.55 miles with 30 obstacles that challenged the agility and strength of our participants. This year, the course will be of a similar distance with new twists.
The event will be held at Highlands / Odyssey Elementary School, 2037 N. Elinor St. Appleton, WI 54914. The event date will be October 2, 2021. Instead of starting with the waves, this year the course TKC will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 1:00 p.m. Participants can complete the course at their convenience.
This event is for all children aged 6 to 13. Participants will walk the course at spaced intervals to allow flexibility in family schedules and maximum participation throughout the event. Participants will receive an event t-shirt and a medal.
The cost of the event is $ 10 per participant. Parents can accompany their child for free by signing a waiver on the day of the event, but will not receive a T-shirt or medal. After September 11, the cost will drop to $ 12 per participant.
A portion of the funds raised will benefit every elementary student who attends the Appleton area school district. Each school will be eligible for a grant to improve their physical education programs. Our goal is to highlight physical activity and raise funds to advance healthy initiatives.
